learn secrets
I wanted only to
learn secrets
dig soil
gather surprise
remove clothes
take alleys
understand animal words
watch for signals
say praises
recite oath
forget requests
eat oranges
drink coffee
lay waste to waiting
blind-ness
I wanted only to tear up my pieces
the only way to find the way
I dug in cities
streets
actual faces and hands
falling half naked in rivers
and dancing southern rhythms
kingdom
the keys to the kingdom lie in the mind’s eye. I followed mine through a wilderness, a wasteland, a jungle, a desert night. there was always one star to follow, one sound.
Shaky and alive, I’ve thrown myself into the misty fire of talk.
night visions
all the sound strange and deranged —
pulling vast infinities of moons—
breaking rhythms of blood emerald
dust and dew dripping though
cavernous minds dreaming all jazz
in hideous tempos, making shark blue
stands against the hammers of
industry - stepping down off thrones of wisdom-
making jungles from lanterns - lighting
the dawn with gleaming teeth-
taking off from fields of beaten pansies - exploding
diamonds liquored down with sweat
and rain —
tame these night visions with madness -
tear these pages with
force of trees -
speak plainly like ancient wolves -
and be not afraid of any
mother - creature or world
that worships the lightning -
these are the oaths of the sacred path-
